PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidity-adjustable fire-protective building material which has high moisture absorptive/desorptive performance, fire protective performance, and fire resistance properties, and is available as a ceiling material and an interior finish material, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The humidity-adjustable fire-protective building material or a humidity-adjustable fire-protective rod contains a moisture absorptive/ desorptive material of 30 to 60 wt.%, having a particle size of 100μm or less, and a hydraulic material. The humidity-adjustable fire-protective building material is produced by preparing a crude material mixture containing the moisture absorptive/desorptive material of 30 to 60 wt.%, having the particle size of 100μm or less, the hydraulic material, a filling material, and reinforcing fibers, adding water to the crude material mixture, kneading the resultant material to obtain slurry, and sheet-making the slurry to obtain a tabular material. |
