PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a (meth)acrylate polymer having a silicon-containing functional group that can be cross-linked by forming a siloxane bond, and a composition thereof, not containing an aromatic compound solvent that can possibly cause environmental problems, and having a diffusion amount of TVOC (total volatile organic compounds) of less than 1,500μg/m<3> according to the measurement described in the edition on February 14, 2001 of GEV. SOLUTION: A polymer (A) component comprising a (meth)acrylate monomer unit as a molecular chain, and having a silicon-containing functional group that can be cross-linked by forming a siloxane bond, is produced by polymerizing a (meth)acrylate monomer, wherein a solvent other than an aromatic solvent is used as a solvent for polymerization.
