PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing agent for glass fibers which can increase the flexibility of glass fiber bundles and can suppress failure in deoiling. SOLUTION: The sizing agent for glass fibers contains starch (weight B) and a lubricant (weight D) as an nonvolatile component (weight C) and contains water as a volatile component. At least a part of the starch is starch acetate (weight A). The weight of the starch acetate, starch, nonvolatile component and lubricant satisfy all of formulae (I) to (IV). They are (I): 0. 3<=A/B<=1, (II): 0.65<=B/C<=0.85, (III): 0.05<=D/B<=0.3 and (IV): B+D<=C.
