PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry a coating liquid on a sheet quickly and properly without making a dryer large-sized. SOLUTION: The dryer constitutes a box-like casing 4 having a carry-in port 2 and carry-out port 3 for a sheet 1, more than one of a guide roller 5 arranged within the casing 4 at regular intervals and more than one of a blow- off port 6 blowing off hot air for drying to the surface of the sheet 1. At this dryer, a heating means 20 is provided for heating at least the guide roller 5a, 5b located at the vicinity of the carry-in port 2 of the sheet 1 up to the temperature equivalent to or higher than that at the guide roller 5 located at the vicinity of the carry-out port 3.
