PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device for a workpiece capable of preventing deformation, floating and positional slippage of a workpiece and maintaining excellent working accuracy, and a clamping method for a workpiece using the same. SOLUTION: A clamping device sucks and secures a workpiece by vacuum suction when cutting a workpiece. The clamping device comprises a workpiece holding part inside which a workpiece provided with a hollow state space part is held, and a vacuum generating means. The workpiece holding part is equipped with a plurality of communication holes for communicating between a contact surface with the workpiece and the hollow state space part, a plurality of positioning recesses into which a positioning member for positioning the workpiece provided to the contact surface is fitted and a communication hole for communicating between the hollow state space part and the vacuum generating means. The communication hole can be closed by a closing member.
