The control unit (12) has a circuit board (13) carrying at least one electronic circuit (35) in the form of a flexible foil in contact with a pair of heat sink plates (10, 11). The latter are sealed in contact with a frame (25) enclosing the space between the plates, containing the circuit board foil, with a terminal rail (15) clamped between the plates to contact the circuit board foil where it is looped around the outside of the frame. Pref. the frame has a sealing ring (26) on either side in contact with the surface of each heat sink plate, fixing screws being used to clamp the plates and the frame together. ADVANTAGE - Provides sealed environment for electronic circuit and allows mass prodn. using relatively few assembly stages and simple mechanical components.
