PURPOSE: A salt injecting device for a washing machine is provided to automatically supply salt for reproducing ion exchange resin which softens water for washing at a proper time under the control of a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION: A salt injecting device for a washing machine includes a housing(140) having an inlet(142) for injecting salt and an outlet(144) communicated with the inlet and connected to a detergent case(110), a tubular body(150) mounted in the housing, a plunger(152) and a compression spring(156) mounted in the tubular body, a valve(154) fixed to an end of the plunger for opening or closing a connection part between the inlet and the outlet of the housing, and a coil(160) wound on the tubular body for operating the plunger by power supply, wherein the salt is supplied by a predetermined amount at a proper time during washing stroke under the control of a microcomputer. |
