CAMERA POSITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EYE-TO-EYE COMMUNICATION

Eye-to-eye videoconferencing may be carried out through the use of a camera (136) secured to an attachment mechanism. The attachment mechanism removably secures the camera to a screen portion (112) of a display screen (108) such that the camera is disposed between the display screen (108) and a person (118) engaged in videoconferencing. In one embodiment, the attachment mechanism is a suction cup (142). In one alternate embodiment, the attachment mechanism takes the form of first (542a) and second (542b) strips of double-sided tape. In another alternate embodiment, the attachment mechanism includes first (656) and second (666) magnets removably secured to front (632) and back (634) sides of a flat panel display (608). Magnetic force between the first (656) and second (666) magnets removably secures the camera (636) to a screen portion of the flat panel display (608).
