PURPOSE: A remote controllable real-time uranium density detecting apparatus and method are provided to precisely and rapidly detect density of uranium by adopting an analog integrator, an A/D converter, software and a computer. CONSTITUTION: A uranium density detecting apparatus includes a nitrogen laser for exciting uranium ions contained in a sample. A digital output pulse is generated for oscillating the nitrogen laser. Laser beam generated by the nitrogen laser is transferred through a laser beam transferring optical fiber. An optical sensor is provided to collect laser beam and uranium fluorescent generated by laser beam. A fluorescent receiving optical fiber is provided to transfer fluorescent to an analysis system. A preamplifier is provided to amplify a current signal. Signals generated from the preamplifier are integrated by two analog integrators. The integrated value is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter. Uranium density is displayed in a monitor of a computer.
