PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method improving a feeling of physical disorder due to the gloss difference between a printed part and an unprinted part, capable of reducing the glittering feeling of the printed part and capable of obtaining high printing density. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording method using yellow, magenta and cyan pigment inks on a recording medium having an ink absorbing layer on a support, the recording medium is characterized in that the 60 deg. mirror surface gloss prescribed in JIS-Z-8741 of the surface on the surface side of the ink absorbing layer is 10-30%, center line average surface roughness Ra prescribed in JISB-0.601 is 0.6-4.0 μm, a Bristol penetration speed is 20-100 ml/m<2> sec<1/2> and at least one of the pigment inks contains pigment particles with an absolute value of zeta potential of 30-100 mV. |
