PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-way optical transmission device which is small in size and also has sufficient light separation effects by using a single-core optical fiber as an optical transmission path and also packaging a light receiving element and a light emitting element into a single unit. SOLUTION: In this two-way optical transmission device 1 for performing two-way communications by using an optical transmission device having an optical fiber 3, the light emitting element 6 and the light receiving element, the single-core optical fiber is used as an optical transmission path. In the transmission device, the light emitting device and the light receiving element are arranged side by side, and at least either a light receiving surface side of the light receiving element or a light emitting surface side of the light emitting element is provided with an optical path controlling member 11 for controlling the direction of light.
