<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized wavelength variable filter which makes fastness and wide wavelength variability compatible. SOLUTION: The wavelength variable filter is provided with an input port 11 and an output port 12 for respectively receiving and outputting optical signals, array waveguides 30 equipped with a triangular electrode 60 for changing the refractive index by electric current injection or voltage application, a slab wave guide 20 for distributing optical signals between the input port 11, output port 12 and array waveguides 30, and a slab wave guide 40 for coupling the optical signals between the array waveguides 30 and a plurality of output waveguides 52. The plurality of output waveguides 51 are disposed at positions corresponding to the interval (k+1/j)Δλ, and the symmetric waveguides are coupled.</p> |
