PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an electromagnetic flowmeter which can make the excitation frequency higher, make the response quicker and make the resistance against differential noise superior, by employing an exciting method using triangular wave instead of using rectangular wave as an exciting means. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic flowmeter detects an electromotive power of a signal corresponding to the flow rate of fluid to be measured through a pair of detecting electrodes in such a condition that the magnetic field is generated in the fluid to be measured flowing in a conduit line by applying exciting current on an exciting coil disposed on the conduit line, and the exciting current applied on the exciting coil is exciting current of triangular wave generated by the exciting method using triangular wave.
