PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preventing slip in a toroidal continuously variable transmission, which can prevent slip of a power roller without deteriorating running performance, by properly judging temperature of working fluid at a contacting ellipse of a power roller in the toroidal continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: Temperature in the transmission at the start and at present is detected by a temperature sensor 15 provided in the transmission. A control time for fuel-cut and fully closing a throttle valve at a select time, and a control time for annealing torque after the engine start, are determined from a map based on the detected temperature.
