PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic expansion type oil fence as a device capable of facilitating the collection of heavy oil by surrounding the circumference of the run-off oil before it is cast ashore by narrowing a stretched distance to make a diffusion area of the run-off oil smaller without disposing of the run-off heavy oil by means of a neutralizer by solving such the problem that in the case a vessel or the like causes an accident of the outflow of oil, great damage occurs, it is not limited to the ocean pollution, but a serious environmental fracture occurs when the oil is cast ashore, the vast length of the oil fence is required when the oil is tried to collect on the sea and that accordingly a larger storage space for the oil fence is required. SOLUTION: A drum equipped with a take-up mechanism is provided in the inside of a cylinder having a proper size. A proper length of the fence is wound on the drum. The other end of the fence is connected to a cylinder provided with the same structure, and the cylinders are consecutively connected to form the automatic expansion type oil fence having an optional length. The drum having the take-up mechanism of the fence simultaneously has a function of a floating body. The automatic expansion type oil fence is capable of separating the run-off oil into a wide range of area, and the stretched distance is narrowed to make the diffusion area of the run-off oil smaller.
