LIGHTWEIGHT TATAMI MAT FRIENDLY TO NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight tatami mat which functions as a sanitary tatami mat being excellent in properties of comfortable dwelling and hygienic and stout, being free of a creak, a tick or others, for instance, on the occasion when it is used and which is excellent in properties of waste and friendly to the environment. SOLUTION: A nonwoven fabric sheet 2a processed for moistureproof and mothproof properties is laid at the lowest part of the tatami mat 1 and a coconut fiber sheet 3a is laid thereon. Biomass foam compositions 4 held at prescribed spaces are laid on this sheet and another coconut fiber sheet 3b or a synthetic veneer in place of this sheet is laid thereon. A silk mat 5 is put further thereon and another nonwoven fabric sheet 2b is put on the surface. The tatami mat of a biomass structure thus constituted and being friendly to the natural environment is provided by this means of the present invention.
