PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip separation device which can prevent chips from sticking into a through-hole of a screen box when a turbid coolant is thrown in and does not generate overflow even if a large amount of the turbid coolant is thrown in, and to facilitate replacement of a screen and attaching/detaching work. SOLUTION: The chip separation device 1 comprises a conveyor 13 with a scraping plate which circularly travels inside a conveyor case 12 and the porous screen box 14 arranged inside the conveyor. The screen box 14 is mounted freely attachably/detachably at a position deviated from the position directly below a throw-in part 17 from above the conveyor case.
