<p>The invention relates to a method of strengthening a tissue against the force of a suture by forming a reinforced eyelet in the tissue. Such an eyelet can be formed by any means that results in strengthening or reinforcement of a tissue against the tensile force of a suture. A reinforced eyelet can be formed via the physical attachment of a strengthening means to a tissue or by contacting a tissue with an eyelet-forming agent. Also described are sutures and kits for use with the method of reinforcing a tissue by forming a reinforced eyelet.</p> |
