The invention relates to a method for carrying out a telediagnosis on a motor vehicle, comprising the following steps: a) initialising the telediagnosis, b) defining diagnosis data in said vehicle, according to diagnosis mechanisms and/or diagnosis parameters available in said vehicle at the time of the diagnosis data definition and c) transmitting at least parts of the diagnosis data to an external service centre, designed for evaluating the transmitted diagnosis data. According to the present invention, said diagnosis mechanisms and/or diagnosis parameters are transmitted at least partially from the service centre to the vehicle on carrying out the method step a).
