PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily concentrate protozoa e.g. oocyst like cryptosporidium, with high rate of collection. SOLUTION: The concentrating device 1 is supplied with sample water added with a ferrite 3, and the ferrite 3 adheres (s1-s3) to an oocyst 5 with the oocyst 5 mixed with the ferrite 3. The oocyst 5 to which the ferrite 3 adheres is separated (s4) from the sample water by a first separating means 7. The oocyst 5 to which the ferrite 3 adheres is mixed with an aqueous solution 8 of an anionic surfactant, and the ferrite 3 is desorbed (s5-s6) from the oocyst 5 by the anionic surfactant. The ferrite 3 and the oocyst 5 are magnetically separated by a second separating means 10, the liquid containing the oocyst 5 separated from the ferrite 3 is collected. |
