FULL TRANSISTOR TYPE IGNITION SYSTEM FOR MOTORCYCLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition system provided with a full transistor type stick type ignition coil capable of obtaining satisfactory spark performance even in a high speed rotation region and being employed in a motorcycle having no spatial allowance around a cylinder head. SOLUTION: This full transistor type ignition system for the motorcycle is provided with the stick type ignition coil whose one end is attached to a connection terminal of an ignition plug S and in which a primary current is supplied at proper timing. A coil resistance value of the ignition coil 1 is reduced, and a large current is made to flow by the amount of reduction. An engine control unit 20 for controlling ignition controls in such a way that ignition is performed in a compression process only of an engine E and ignition is not performed in an exhaust process.
