PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly fix and hold a sash at an arbitrary opening degree in a casement window. SOLUTION: A window opening degree adjusting device 5 is attached to the casement window 1 and guides opening and closing of the sash 3 to fix and hold the sash 3 at the arbitrary opening degree. As for the window opening degree adjusting device 5, an end on one side of an opening and closing guide arm 13 is connected with a fixed position of a window frame 2 so as to rotate freely around a vertical axis, and a slider 12 movable along a slide guide case 11 provided in a lower frame of the sash 3 is provided at the other end of the opening and closing guide arm 13. A braking member 15 which comes into contact with the slider 12 and is remote-controlled by the operation of a handle 6 provided on the sash 3, fixes the slider 12 immovably when it comes into contact with the slider, and fixes and holds the sash 3 at the arbitrary opening degree position is provided in the slide guide case 11.
