PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flooring material and a method of constructing a floor using the same, facilitating operations to reduce the period and cost of construction work while also reducing the amount of waste disposal during dismantling. SOLUTION: A pair of adjacent two side wall surfaces 1a and 1b are provided with respective tongues 2a and 2b and the other pair of two side wall surfaces 1c and 1d are provided with respective grooves 3a and 3b. The side wall surface 1d provided with the groove 3b is provided with an overlapping side 4 which extends outwards from the underside of the groove 3b, and the side wall surface 1b provided with the tongue 2b is provided with a cutout 5 under the tongue 2b to form the flooring material A. A watertight sheet 6 is laid on a floor face S and the overlapping side 4 of one piece of flooring material A is overlapped with the cutout 5 of the other piece of flooring material A; a concrete nail 9 which reaches the floor face S is driven into the overlapping side 4 of the other piece of flooring material A to directly lay and affix the pieces of flooring material A to the floor face S.
