PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wall surface joint apparatus which eliminates unsightly appearance due to formation of a step at a joint portion by covering the same with an almost single joint cover, and is available for an aseismic building by securing sufficient movement of the apparatus. SOLUTION: The wall joint apparatus is comprised of a pair of support bars, expansion link mechanisms, a fixed joint cover, a movable joint cover, a central support bar, a slide rail, and a movable joint cover energizing mechanism. The support bars are mounted on joint-side wall surfaces of right and left buildings via hinge members. The expansion link mechanisms each have both ends thereof pivotally supported by the support bars. The fixed joint cover covers one side of the joint portion fixed to one of the support bars. The movable joint cover fixed to the other support bar and has its tip portion overlap the fixed joint cover via the hinge member in a manner being laid over the same. The central support bar is pivotally supported by a pivotal support portion at the center of the expansion link mechanism. The slide rail is horizontally fixed to the movable joint cover. The movable joint cover energizing mechanism has one end thereof slidably attached to the slide rail and the other end thereof attached to the central support bar via the energizing spring in a manner penetrating through a vertical long hole formed in the central support bar to energize the movable joint cover in the direction of the central support bar.
