PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel sheet for galvannealing which can simultaneously attain excellent workability-formability and high plating adhesion, and to provide a galvannealed steel sheet. SOLUTION: The steel sheet for galvannealing has a composition containing, by mass, 0.0001 to 0.004% C, 0.001 to 0.1% Si, 0.01 to 0.5% Mn, 0.001 to 0.015% P, <=0.015% S, 0.1 to 0.5% Al, 0.002 to 0.1% Ti, and 0.0005 to 0.004% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and, if required, 0.002 to 0.1% Nb is further incorporated therein. Further, a galvannealed layer having a composition containing 0.05 to 0.5% Al and 7 to 15% Fe, and the balance Zn with inevitable impurities is formed on the steel sheet for galvannealing.
