PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially profitable method for producing a fluorine- containing benzoic acid, which prevents adhesion of fluorine-containing benzoic acid precipitates to inner walls of the reaction vessel during hydrolysis of the fluorine-containing aromatic compound, and which collects the fluorine-containing benzoic acid from the reaction solution with high filtration efficiency, significantly reducing contents of the reaction solution and an ammonium sulfate. SOLUTION: During cooling process of the reaction solution to precipitate the fluorine-containing benzoic acid, water is added to the reaction solution under stirring condition until acid substance concentration becomes 10 to 50 wt.%.
