PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition having good foamability and foam touch feeling during cleansing therewith, affording sufficient cleansing effect, and also giving the hair after dried smoothness, glossiness and firmness. SOLUTION: This shampoo composition comprises (A) 1-50 mass% of an anionic surfactant, (B) 0.01-5 mass% of a cationic polymer, (C) 0.001-5 mass% of a candelilla resin and (D) 0.01-10 mass% of an ester oil and/or an alcohol. The other version of this composition also includes (E) an amphoteric surfactant in addition to the components (A) to (D).
