PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate losses caused by storage space, rigid structures, excessive power facilities and large power expenses in conveying a conventional automobile into and out of a storage compartment or to increase the efficiency of warehouse use by reducing the width of a passage which is greater then the depth of a storage compartment for other article. SOLUTION: The front vertical and horizontal beams of opposite storage structures which are located on one side and of the same compartment scale are formed of C-steel members whose intersecting parts are in communication with each other, with openings of the members pointed outwards. Protrusions at each end of a table having a moving device for causing an article storage truck for each compartment to reciprocate are always kept in the openings, and the table is raised and lowered for movement either by raising and lowering hydraulic equipment supporting the center of the table or by an electric trolley hoist running on an I-shaped rail stretched between the top protruding parts of the front vertical beams of the structures. Alternatively, both devices are used in conjunction to move or raise or lower the table to the designated compartment and cause reciprocation of an article carrying truck.
