Lifting system comprises a load holder and a lifting device. A support device (4) is provided with a tilting element (4.2) to maintain the level of at least the upper transport plane. On lifting a load using a gripping part (1.3) coupled to the load holder the tilting element tilts until a holding part connected to the load holder enters a support holder (4.32) and causes a relative adjustment on over-lifting the load holder between the holding part and the support holder so that the holding part moves from the region of the support holder into a release position allowing the load holder to drop. Or in a corresponding mode of operation the tilting element is coupled to the load holder, and the gripping part and the holding part are coupled to the support device. Preferred Features: The holding part is identical to the gripping part. The support holder is formed on the tilting element.
