The invention concerns a vertebral fixing device capable of being mounted on a vertebra having a rear wall and two side walls from which project the ribs and/or the transverse processes. It comprises: an elongated transverse part (16) having two substantially symmetrical opposite ends (18, 20), said transverse part (16) being adapted to be arranged against said rear wall (5) of said vertebra, each of said ends (18, 20) being located opposite one rib and/or one transverse process (52, 54); at least two adjustable linking elements (26, 28, 42, 44) forming U-bolts, capable of being linked respectively to each of said two ends (18, 20), said ribs and/or transverse processes (52, 54) being adapted to be engaged in said adjustable linking elements (26, 28, 42, 44) so as to maintain said transverse longitudinal part (16) in fixed position against said rear wall (51) of said vertebra.
