PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium, which is optimum for an optical recording method for recording and erasing at the high speed range of the rotational linear speed of a disk of 9.6 m/s or higher, a phase-change type optical recording medium, which is optimum for a rewritable phase-change optical disk, and a sputtering target for realizing the object. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium having at least a phase-change type recording layer on a disk-like substrate, the recording layer is represented by the compositional formula: XαYβZγSbδTeε (wherein X represents Si and/or Ge; Y represents Ag and/or Bi; and Z represents (Ga and/or In) under the condition that respective compositional ratios (in at.%) satisfy the following inequalities: α+β+γ+δ+ε>=98, 0.5<=α<=5, 0.1<=β<=5, 1<=γ<=10, 65<=δ<=80 and 15<=ε<=25. |
