PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the surface of a glass substrate to be a super-flat plane at a cooling step after molding, in the molding of the glass substrate using a mold. SOLUTION: When flowing a cooling medium to the backside of the mold to cool the mold after molding a glass material into glass substrate form with the mold, the cycle for flowing the cooling medium from the center to the outer periphery in the backside of the mold and the cycle for flowing the cooling medium from the outer periphery to the center in the backside of the mold are alternately repeated so that the cooling of the mold is uniform, thereby providing a uniform mold temperature at cooling to form the glass substrate having a super-flat plane without distortion.
