PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure at the time when a plug is caught by a manipulator in a plug opening apparatus in which a plug is removed from a test tube and wasted. SOLUTION: When a plug 14 is caught by two fingers 12 in a manipulator 10 during opening of the two fingers 12, a striking mechanism 24 is operated, i.e., lower ends of the fingers 12 are struck by an arm 28 at a position near below the lower ends of the fingers 12. The caught plug is pushed out by this operation and it becomes possible to drop the plug into a wasting box 20.
