HYDROPHILIZING WAX COMPOSITION

A hydrophilizing wax composition which gives a wax coating layer whose surface is hydrophilic and imparts a gloss and long-lasting antifouling properties to a base. It comprises: a hydrophilizing agent having one or more hydrolyzable groups which are hydrolyzed into hydrophilic groups by the action of water and are simultaneously condensed to enable the agent to have a higher molecular weight, e.g., a hydrophilizing agent comprising at least one of an organometallic compound having a hydrolyzable eliminable group, an oligomer thereof, and a cooligomer of two or more such organometallic compounds and a wax ingredient. When applied to a base and wiped off, the hydrophilizing wax composition can form a hydrophilized wax coating layer.
