According to the invention, a mobile telephone can automatically update exchange information even on a network change within digital networks, by means of a fixed network exchange device, whereby the dialing can also be carried out at an optimal tariff. The target number is automatically given a parameterised prefix (pre-area code telephone number), when the national network code stored as prefix matches the national network code of the mobile radio network in use unless the number is an international emergency number. On a national network change the data of the mobile telephone is automatically updated by means of a service centre.
