METHOD FOR PRODUCING STABILIZED AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE, AND ITS COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate having a small haze value after molded and exhibiting a slight increase in the haze value after maintained under a high-temperature and high-humidity condition, and to provide an aromatic polycarbonate hardly suffering from discoloration after stayed in a melt state and exhibiting excellent resistance to hydrolysis, and its composition. SOLUTION: An aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carbonate diester are subjected to polycondensation in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to give an aromatic polycarbonate having an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.1, and subsequently at least one stabilizer derived from a sulfate is added in an amount of 0.01 ppm to 1 wt.% based on the thus-obtained aromatic polycarbonate to give an aromatic polycarbonate having a desired intrinsic viscosity.
