PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate having no problem relating to saponification treatment but having satisfactory adhesiveness between a polarizer and a transparent protective film. SOLUTION: In the polarizing plate having a transparent protective film applied with an adhesive layer on at least one surface of a polarizer, a polymer coating layer having hydroxyl groups is formed on the surface of the transparent protective film adhering to the polarizer. The adhesive layer is formed by using an adhesive containing an isocyanate-based adhesive.
