PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem; it is necessary to shift one hand to a camera accessory in order to turn on an auxiliary light while holding the camera by both hands, then, it is inconvenient in terms of operation. SOLUTION: As for the camera constituted so that the camera accessory equipped with an auxiliary light emitting means for irradiating an object with the auxiliary light in the case of detecting the focusing state of a photographing optical system can be attached/detached to/from the camera, and so that the camera can communicate with the camera accessory, the camera is provided with an operation means which is installed in the camera main body, and which is operated in order to instruct the auxiliary light emitting means to emit the light independently from the automatic focusing operation of the photographing optical system, and a control means for transmitting a signal to the camera accessory in accordance with the operation of the operation means so as to instruct the auxiliary light emitting means to emit the light. |
