PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge on which of a first and a second roads the vehicle is traveling along under a situation where the first and second road are vertically laid on, without providing map data with three-dimensional information. SOLUTION: The vehicle's mileage is detected (S100), its traveling direction is detected (S110), and its traveling trajectory is created (S120). If an inclination ahead and behind the vehicle is detected, the inclination is marked on the traveling trajectory (S130, S140). If an access road exists near the inclined section of the traveling trajectory (S150: YES), it is judged that the vehicle has entered the access road (S160). It is thereby judged that the road along which the vehicle is traveling is either the first road or the second road (S180). For example, if entrance to an access road while traveling along a highway is judged, it is judged that the vehicle has exited out of the highway to a regular road. In contrast, if entrance to an access road while traveling along a regular road is judged, it is judged that the vehicle has entered a highway. |
