PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet handling device capable of improving handling efficiency without enlarging a device constitution. SOLUTION: A money receiving processor has an attitude correcting device 10 for correcting a conveying attitude of bills P conveyed through a conveying passage 6. A foreign matter ticket Pn including a foreign matter of bills taken onto the conveying passage 6 by a taking roller is detected by a detecting device disposed just after the taking roller. The foreign matter ticket Pn is stopped in a grappled and constrained state by a nip between correcting rollers 37 and 38 by stopping the correcting rollers 37 and 38 on the downstream side when the rear end of a bill Pn-1 taken just previously is detected by a sensor 22 just after the attitude correcting device 10. A bill Pn+1 taken after the foreign matter ticket P is stopped by a nip between correcting rollers 37 and 38 on the upstream side.
