PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping unit capable of effectively removing cuttings or the like which adhere onto a taper corn surface, pallet positioning reference plane and a collet. SOLUTION: In the clamping unit 1, an air supply pipe 7 for supplying air from the side of a machine tool (M) to the side of a pallet (P) is provided in a taper cone 4. An air discharging port 24 for discharging air supplied from the side of the machine tool (M) toward a pallet taper part 20 and an air lead-in passage 22 for leading air to the air discharging port 24 is provided in the pallet (P), wherein air is discharged from the side of pallet (P) so as to clean the pallet taper part 20.
