PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to lower the voltage level of the driving pulse by permitting the first dielectric layer formed at the rear surface of the first electrode where scanning pulses are applied, to have a thin thickness. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a plurality of first electrodes(40T), a plurality of second electrodes(40Y), a plurality of third electrodes(40Z), a plurality of address electrodes(48X), a plurality of barrier ribs(44), a first dielectric layer(34), and a second dielectric layer(35). The first electrodes(40T) are formed at an upper substrate(32), and supplied with scanning pulses during an address period. The second electrodes(40Y) are formed at a narrow gap from the first electrodes, and supplied with a first sustain pulse during a sustain period. The third electrodes(40Z) are spaced apart from the second electrodes, and supplied with a second sustain pulse during a sustain period. The address electrodes(48X) are formed on a lower substrate(38) in the direction crossing first to third electrodes. The barrier ribs(44) are formed between the address electrodes in the direction parallel to the address electrodes. The first dielectric layer(34) is formed at the upper substrate in such a manner that the first dielectric layer is superimposed with the first electrodes. The second dielectric layer(35) is formed at the upper substrate in such a manner that the second dielectric layer is superimposed with the second electrodes and third electrodes.
