An information processing system and an information processing apparatus and method are disclosed.In step S1,PDA requests to a server to purchase a content and in steps S11,S12,and S14,the server receives the content purchase request from the PDA and delivers a corresponding content to the PDA.In step S5,the PDA requests the server to store the content and in step S16,the server generates a storage ID according to the user ID of the PDA user and the content ID of the delivered content and issues it to the PDA.After this,in step S17,the server correlates the issued storage ID to the content ID and causes a storage ID database to store it.In step S6,the PDA acquires the storage ID issued from the server and stores it.The present invention can be applied to an information managing system.
