PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein light leakage current is suppressed even when the device is used under much quantity of light and thereby image display with high contrast and high image quality can be performed. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 100 of an active matrix system wherein a thin film transistor 200 is used as a switching element, a first lower layer side light shielding layer 27 and a second upper layer side light shielding layer 28 preventing the incidence of light on the thin film transistor 200 are provided on the both sides of the thin film transistor 200 in its thickness direction so as to cover the thin film transistor 200. The surfaces facing the thin film transistor side of respective the first lower layer side light shielding layer 27 and the second upper layer side light shielding layer 28 are formed so as to prevent light reflection. |
