PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the structure or shape of a machine house mounted with a compressor integral with a base varies depending on the type of an apparatus such as a refrigerator or the like and the problem that the one-type compressor cannot be used to various types of refrigerators or air conditioners in consideration of refrigerant piping or electric wiring connected to the compressor as a result of the position of a mounting leg of the compressor being fixed. SOLUTION: The device for supporting the hermetic electric compressor comprises a bottom plate mounted to the bottom of a hermetic container, a base which has an engagement part removably engaging with an engagement part provided to the bottom plate and is mounted to the apparatus employing the hermetic electric compressor and a cushion material interposed between the bottom plate and the base. With the cushion material pressed by engagement of the respective engagement parts of the bottom plate and the base, the base and the bottom plate are connectively held.
