PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear compressor capable of realizing high efficiency, high reliability, and low cost by preventing an increase in slide face pressure between a piston and a cylinder wall face because a lateral load may be generated and a slide face may be worn under oilless conditions when a coil spring is adopted as a spring member in a conventional linear compressor. SOLUTION: In this linear compressor provided with a cylinder supported by a support mechanism part in a sealed vessel, the piston supported movably along the direction of axial line of the cylinder on the same shaft axis as the cylinder, and a linear motor formed by a spring member giving a force in the direction of axial line to the piston and a fixing part fixing a movable part and a reciprocating passage of the movable part to the cylinder, the spring member is composed of a plurality of coil springs, and the plurality of coil springs and the piston are mutually connected and supported via a support member.
