PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fluctuations in gaps between substrates of a liquid crystal device to enhance display quality by altering the constitution of a pattern for confirming a position. SOLUTION: A plurality of pattern parts 11Sa mutually separated are arranged in the pattern 11S-2 for confirming a position and the arranged area of the pattern parts 11Sa is constituted in a L-shape as a whole. The pattern parts 11Sa are arranged at a prescribed interval along the extended direction of a sealing material 11G disposed on the pattern 11S-2 for confirming a position. The width and the arrangement period of the pattern parts 11Sa are constituted in nearly the same way as a dummy pattern 11D-1.
