Docking station for peripherals has: a number of interfaces for different peripheral types, with the interfaces including communications and power connections; a power supply; a communications controller for controlling communications between the peripherals and the host; and a host interface configured to provide communication with the latter. An Independent claim is made for a central peripheral docking station that is configured for management and use of a number of peripherals simultaneously.
