PURPOSE: An artificial mark apparatus for mark-based self position recognition of mobile robot is provided, which performs a mark recognition work using an image processing device of a mobile robot at lower luminous intensity and night circumstances by proving a luminescence function. CONSTITUTION: A user interface(10) enable a user to operate an artificial mark device(1) directly or remotely. An illumination measuring part(20) measures illumination around a place where the artificial mark device(1) is installed. An artificial mark part(40) expresses the much amount of information and is easy to be discriminated by an image processing device of a mobile robot. A lighting means(50) radiates when a power is supplied, and lights the artificial mark part(40). A control part(30) controls the lighting means(50) manually or automatically.
