PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansible post capable of quickly expanding or contracting a post with a small force, and standing still the post in a stable state. SOLUTION: This expansion post 1 is provided with a stationary post which is a hollow pipe erected on a pedestal 6, a first movable post 3 fitted in a follow part of the stationary post 2, a first pulley P1 fixed to the wall surface 20 of the stationary post 2, a winch W (a winding means) for taking or letting out a first wire R1 (a wire material), and a tabular constant load spring 7 (a constant load energizing means) mounted in the pedestal 6 and wound closely helically. The first wire R1 supports the first movable post 3, and a second wire R2 connected to a constant load spring 7 supports the first movable post 3 through the first pulley P1. The first movable post 3 can be elevated along the stationary post 2 by tensile force of the winch W and the constant load spring 7.
